About
I offer formal psychoanalytic assessment for those seeking a deeper understanding of their inner world and its structure, history, and the unconscious processes that organize it. Assessment is not a matter of symptom inventory. It involves a careful examination of character: the defences that have formed, the conflicts that persist, and the relational patterns that repeat. Where diagnostic clarity is needed, the assessment attends to the differential presentation of mood, anxiety, eating, and psychotic disorders—not as discrete categories to be assigned, but as expressions of underlying character structure to be understood. The evaluation draws on the Shedler-Westen Assessment Procedure and results in a comprehensive psychodynamic case formulation.
An introductory assessment is $1,000 and includes test materials, a three-hour evaluation, a one-hour debrief, and the written formulation.
