I offer consultation to clinicians working with complex presentations, particularly those involving personality organization, affective and psychotic structure, and the diagnostic questions that arise at their intersection. The work of consultation is formulation: locating the patient's difficulties within a coherent psychoanalytic understanding of their development, defences, and the relational world they carry internally.
Consultation may take the form of written case formulation, live case discussion, risk assessment, or recommendation regarding treatment modality and sequencing—attended to in relation to where the patient is in their illness and what the clinical relationship can currently bear. This service is available to psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other licensed practitioners, in person or by secure telehealth.
